Vacancy
(Mining Assistant x 3)
Uis Tin Mining Company Pty Ltd an equal opportunity employer, situated in the Erongo region,
hereby invites competent & suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Mining
Assistant. This position reports to the Mining Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
– Ore spotting duties for grade control in the pit and the ROM pad.
– Recording tallies for both ore and waste loading in the pit.
– Assist with surveying and staking of new points on the mining area.
– Checking of actual drilled hole depths against the planned hole depths.
– Sampling of ore blocks.
– Maintaining sampling equipment.
– Flattening of heave in ore blocks. Assist geology with face mapping for both ore and waste
contacts from the current production face and the drilling chips from the ore block.
– Assist with geotechnical mapping of structures on current pit walls.
– Manage housekeeping activities and ensure that the work areas are well-maintained and
safe.
– Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
– Perform ad hoc tasks as prescribed by the supervisor or manager in a timely manner.
– Promote company policies, particularly the health and safety policies, also ensuring timeous
reporting and recording of all incidents on the safety system of the company.
Key Requirements:
– Minimum Grade 12.
– Valid Code 08 Drivers license is an added advantage.
– One (1) year of work experience preferably in the mining industry is an added advantage.
– Excellent English literacy skills with any other Namibian language an advantage.
– Willing to work extended hours as / and when required.
– Being vaccinated against COVID-19 will be an added advantage.
