Description:Emesco has an employment opportunity for a qualified Assistant Operations & Maintenance Manager for its various sites across southern Namibia. The position plays an important role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our solar plants. The position requires an experienced professional with a strong technical background in solar plants and proven leadership skills to oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities.Potential candidates require the ability and willingness to work independently in a remote location, to travel (as required) and be willing to work overtime/ standby as per company policy requirements.The position plays an important role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our solar plants. The position requires an experienced professional with a strong technical background in solar plants and proven leadership skills to oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities.Potential candidates require the ability and willingness to work independently in a remote location, to travel (as required) and be willing to work overtime/ standby as per company policy requirements.Key Responsibilities:O&M strategic Planning: Performance and operational optimization.Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to maintenance personnel.Maintenance Management: Preventive and corrective maintenance scheduling, reporting and stakeholder engagementTechnical Oversight: Plant performance monitoring, fault analysis, inspections & conformance audits and reporting.Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Management of compliance & corrective actions.Reporting & Documentation: Technical and commercial reporting on plant operations, maintenance, equipment and inventory.Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience: Diploma or certificate in electrical engineering, renewable energy or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in the installation-, or the operations & maintenance of solar power plants or similar facilities.Strong technical knowledge of solar photovoltaic systems, inverters, SCADA systems, and related equipment.NamPower or Eskom accredited switching training will be advantageous.Experience with maintenance management software and tools for data analysis and reporting.Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to solar power generation.Valid driver’s license.The company offers:Competitive salary commensurate with experience.Opportunities for career growth, training and professional development in the renewable energy sector.We thank all applicants for their interest.
